I’ve always wanted to work for myself or have my own catering business. My family members were the ones who finally encouraged me to step out and take the chance. And with that courage, A Divine Catering was born and I am working to establish myself in the culinary world as a caterer and private chef.
For most of my life, my primary job was as a waiter. I spent my early years working everywhere from Disneyland hotels, gourmet bistros in Santa Monica, to dive bars on the Venice Beach boardwalk. Throughout my time as a waiter, I was hired on to cater events, being tenacious in picking up the tools of the trade. My expertise, hospitality, leadership, and innovative ideas got me clients whom I still cater for today on a regular basis.
It’s been over 2 decades since I catered my first event, but I haven’t taken my dream all the way. I delight in making other's culinary and event desires come to life. I manage everything from creating the menu to creating the floral arrangements and serving as the event consultant on the day of. As my favorite author Gabriel García Márquez once sad, "It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams." I do not plan on getting old anytime soon.
